The functioning of this technical committee has been helpful in bridging the knowledge gap, sharing experience and expertise, identifying areas for pursuing regional actions and projects etc. The Heads of States of SAARC countries during the second summit held in Bangalore in underlined that concrete steps should be taken to facilitate tourism in the region. The SAARC leaders emphasized especially on vocational education and training, and accordingly directed their education ministers to prepare fot strategies for ensuring the quality education having aims of raising the standards of South Asian educational systems for serving better to sokth youth of the region. We must also base all our actions on the fundamental recognition of the fact that the eradication of poverty and hunger and malnutrition are two faces of the same coin.
